Lakshmi Sweets was founded in 1985 by Mr. Kalidass, originally from Saamithevanpatty, Kovilpatti. With nothing more than passion for good food and determination, he set up a small shop on the Periyar Bus Stand platform in Madurai. Very soon, the shop became popularly known as “Periyar Moola Kadai”, a name fondly remembered by locals even today. What started as a humble family business grew into a trusted brand, loved by generations of Madurai people.
